Israel says it killed ‘Commander of the Oil Headquarters’ in Iran

Tel Aviv/Tehran, April 2, (dpa/GNA) – The Israeli military said, it has killed another senior Iranian commander in an attack in the Iranian capital Tehran this week.

According to the statement issued on Thursday, the man killed was Jamshid Eshaghi, who it said was “the commander of the Oil Headquarters for the Iranian terror regime’s forces.”

It said the oil headquarters enabled Iran’s power apparatus to continue its activities and military build-up through profits from oil sales.

It said Eshaghi was also responsible for providing financial resources to Iran’s allies in the region, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia and the Houthi militia in Yemen.

Eshaghi was listed on a US Treasury Department sanctions list and classified there as a globally operating terrorist.

In the Iran war, Israel has already killed dozens of leading figures in Iran’s power apparatus, including supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
