Tamale, April 06, GNA – Hajia Safia Mohammed, the Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has donated 300 bags of cement and GH¢30,000.00 towards the construction of the party’s Northern Regional Office complex at Zogbeli, a suburb of Tamale.

The donation, which also included 12 shovels, 12 headpans, 20 abulution cans, 20 cups, two bags of sugar, four cartons of milk, and two boxes of tea leaves, was to support the ongoing construction of the first-ever ultra-modern regional office of the NPP in the region.

Hajia Safia Mohammed, who presented the items to party officials at the project site, said the gesture was to contribute to the timely completion of the office complex to provide a conducive environment for party administration in the region.

Hajia Safia Mohammed, who is also aspiring for the position of NPP National Women’s Organiser in the next national executive elections, to be held later this year, explained that the gesture formed part of efforts by the Women’s wing of the party to actively support its infrastructure development and strengthen its base ahead of future elections.

She touched on the party’s performance in the 2024 general election, and said women played a crucial role in the party’s efforts, adding that the NPP remained resolute despite the outcome.

She said “We are well-focused, well-organised and well-structured. Immediately after the elections, I toured all the 16 regions to re-energise the base and encourage members not to relent.”

She expressed confidence in the party’s prospects stating that the NPP remained united and prepared to recapture power in the 2028 general election.

Hajia Safia Mohammed emphasized the critical role of women in national politics saying they constituted about 51 to 52 per cent of the country’s population and therefore held significant influence in determining electoral outcomes.

She called on party faithful in the region to remain united and committed, emphasising that cohesion within the party would be key to regaining lost parliamentary seats in the region.

She provided further details of her support for the office complex project, which included the provision of water to facilitate initial construction works during the Ramadan period.

Alhaji Abdul Rahman Sualihu Mahama, the Northern Regional Second Vice Chairman, NPP described the support as the largest single contribution since the commencement of the project.

He expressed appreciation to Hajia Safia Mohammed for the gesture and appealed to other party members and stakeholders to emulate her gesture to ensure the completion of the office complex.

Alhaji Soyibu Yussif, the Northern Regional Treasurer, NPP thanked Hajia Safia Mohammed for her support saying the gift would significantly advance progress of the project.
