Gbetsile, April 07, GNA — Goodness City Chapel International has organised a picnic and fun games event to promote unity among members and reinforce gospel values.

The event, held after Easter celebrations, brought together members of the church in an atmosphere of joy, fellowship, and spiritual reflection.

Reverend Victorious Hornam Dunyo, Head Pastor of the Church, said the initiative formed part of efforts to strengthen bonds within the congregation while encouraging both spiritual and physical well-being.

“We play together, unite, and exercise our bodies. We are looking forward to having more people join us, especially the youth, to give their lives to Christ, where strength, wisdom and knowledge come from,” he said.

Rev Dunyo explained that the church deliberately chose a controlled environment for the event instead of the beach to ensure safety and avoid potential risks such as drowning.

He added that the church had adopted a policy of organising such activities after Easter to promote unity and healthy living among members.

Participants engaged in various games and recreational activities, creating moments of laughter, and deeper connection among members.

Reverend Emmanuel Akoe, pastor in charge of the Nungua Branch of the church, said the event also highlighted the importance of balancing spiritual growth with physical well-being.

“As we remember the death and resurrection of Christ, we must also build our physical bodies. While we pray, we must also work and exercise to stay healthy,” he said.

Some members expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as refreshing, uplifting, and an opportunity to bond outside the usual church setting.

The event successfully combined fun with faith, reinforcing the church’s commitment to nurturing both the spiritual and social lives of its members.
