Accra, April 24, GNA – Ghana will host over 500 delegates from West Africa and the global diaspora at the 12th District 94 Toastmasters International Conference in Accra.
The four-day summit, to be held on the themed “Lead with Purpose, Speak to Impact”, will take place from April 29 to May 2, 2026, at Destiny Arena, with additional events scheduled at selected venues across the capital.
A release issued to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said delegates would engage in keynote addresses, leadership masterclasses, speech contests, panel discussions and networking sessions to strengthen communication and leadership capacities across the region.
Ghana is hosting the conference for the second time in seven years, following the 2018 edition.
Madam Fatou Sakho, District Director of District 94, explained that Accra 2026 would be more than a conference, describing it as a convergence of cultures, communication and courage, where stories align with strategy and purpose connects with impact.
She affirmed that Ghana, District 94 and Africa were all prepared to host the world.
Madam Auzy Aku Puplampu, Conference Chair, described hosting the event as a prestigious honour and a reflection of Toastmasters’ growing influence across the region.
Mr Ibrahim Sory Keita, Programme Quality Director, indicated that the organisers aimed to provide an unforgettable Akwaaba experience for the more than 500 international delegates expected in Accra.
Mr Papa Arkhurst, a pioneering Ghanaian Toastmaster, said Africa was prepared to lead with purpose and speak to impact, describing the conference as a moment to showcase the Toastmasters culture of building leaders and communicators, the Akwaaba spirit, and a bold expression of African excellence.
The conference will culminate in the International Speech Contest and International Evaluation Speech Contest, crowning the region’s finest speakers of the year.
Delegates will also enjoy cultural experiences, tourism activities, networking events, and a Hall of Fame Recognition Ceremony followed by a Gala Night.
Keynote addresses will feature distinguished business leaders including Alhassan Andani, Board Chairman of Ecobank Ghana; David Dorte of AB and David Africa; Julian Opuni, Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Ghana; and Kwamina Asomaning, Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana.
