Ho-Dome (V/R), April 24, GNA-Dr Robert Doh, National Youth Commissioner of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Proforum, has donated educational materials to the Ho Dome Evangelical Presbyterian Basic School (E.P School) to support teaching and learning.

The gesture, which forms part of his commitment to giving back to society, targeted both pupils and teachers, with a focus on improving academic performance, particularly ahead of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Dr Doh, an alumnus of the school, on April 24, 2026, presented exercise books, mathematics sets, pens and pencils to Junior High School (JHS) Form Three students to aid their preparation for the upcoming BECE examination.

“Our aim is to support you to excel. Education remains the key to your future, and we believe in your potential,” he stated.

In addition, outstanding pupils from Primary Four to Six were rewarded with exercise books in recognition of their academic performance, as part of efforts to encourage excellence among learners.

Dr Doh further motivated the candidates by promising additional support packages, contingent on their performance in the BECE.

“If you make us proud with good results, there will be more rewards waiting for you,” he assured.

Miss Benedicta Asuo,  the Assistant Girls’ Prefect, speaking on behalf of the students, expressed appreciation for the donation and described it as timely and impactful.

“We are very grateful for this support. It will help us prepare well for our exams,” she said.

Mr John Fansey and Mrs Judith Gellie, Headteachers of the JHS and Primary sections respectively, also commended Dr Doh for the initiative and pledged to ensure the items were used for their intended purpose.

“We appreciate this kind gesture and assure you that the materials will be put to good use to benefit the students,” Mr Fansey noted.

Mr Fansey, however, appealed for further support to address infrastructure challenges facing the school, including the need to raise the fence wall to enhance security and construct a proper canteen facility.

“We are battling with issues of burglary, and the lack of a proper canteen forces us to use classrooms as storage spaces,” he explained.

Dr Doh, who has undertaken several development initiatives in the school, including tiling the headteacher’s office, assured the authorities that their concerns would be considered.

“We will look into these requests and see how best we can support the school further,” he added, reaffirming his commitment to the development of his alma mater.
