Dzodze (V/R), April 14, GNA – Rev Martin Amenaki, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, has marked his first anniversary in office with a message of gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment to fast-tracking development across the municipality.

The MCE commended the collaborative efforts of the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr Eric Edem Agbana, the Presiding Member, Mr Edward Seke, party executives, Assembly Members, opinion leaders, the media, staff of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, and residents, noting that their collective commitment had contributed significantly to the progress recorded so far.

On governance, the MCE said his administration had prioritised efficiency, coordination, and staff welfare within the Assembly and noted that improved working conditions had enhanced productivity and morale among Assembly Members and staff.

He said deliberate measures to strengthen the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF) had improved revenue mobilisation, enabling the Assembly to undertake more development projects while reducing reliance on central government support.

Transparency, accountability, and teamwork, he stressed, remained key pillars guiding the Assembly’s operations.

Rev Amenaki highlighted major gains across critical sectors over the past 12 months, stating that the Assembly had focused on delivering impactful projects while ensuring residents benefited from national development programmes.

He cited improvements in infrastructure, including the construction and rehabilitation of classroom blocks, CHPS compounds, and road networks to enhance access to education, healthcare, and transportation.

He also noted steady progress in water and sanitation, with additional projects expected to be completed within the year.

In the health sector, he said service delivery had improved considerably, supported by committed health personnel and the effective implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

He indicated that security within the municipality had improved, providing a safer environment for residents and businesses, while longstanding cattle-related challenges had been significantly addressed through coordinated interventions.

Agriculture, he said, continued to receive attention through the distribution of farming inputs such as tools and fertilizers to boost productivity and support farmers.

The MCE also disclosed that plans were far advanced for the commencement of the ECOWAS market and the proposed 24-hour market, projects expected to stimulate local commerce, create jobs, and expand economic opportunities.

Looking ahead, Rev Amenaki emphasised the need to consolidate the gains made and accelerate development efforts across all sectors.

He reaffirmed his commitment to expanding infrastructure, strengthening healthcare and education, and creating more opportunities for young people.

He underscored the importance of aligning local development priorities with national policies to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth.

“The foundation has been laid, but there is more work ahead,” he stated, expressing confidence that with unity, collaboration, and sustained public support, Ketu North would continue a path of progress and prosperity.
