Twifo Praso (C/R), Apirl 7, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti Morkwa Constituency, Mr Theophilus Vondee, has advised young people that while formal education was important, acquiring practical skills was equally essential for success.
According to him, the government had prioritised efforts to reduce unemployment across the country and had put measures in place to develop skills.
He emphasised that certificates from educational institutions alone were not always enough to guarantee jobs and encouraged the youth to develop skills to serve as sustainable sources of income.
Mr Vondee was speaking at a programme organised by the Twifo-Atti- Morkwa District Assembly in collaboration with Nana Ba Charity Foundation to equip young people with vocational and technical skills.
The District Chief Executive, Mr Isaac Yawson, reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting the youth, and called on NGOs to support government initiatives, noting that development efforts required collective responsibility.
The Central Regional Council of State member, Mr Hakeem Addae appealed to entrepreneurs and companies to invest in the Central Region by establishing industries and factories.
He assured potential investors of the region’s readiness to provide the necessary support to help reduce unemployment.
