Hohoe (V/R), Mar. 7, GNA – Mr Prosper Kumi, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has reiterated the commitment of the Assembly to building the prosperity of the country.
He said the Assembly was doing so through infrastructure development, improvement in education, healthcare delivery, support for economic growth, and enhancing livelihood.

Mr Kumi in his address to mark the country’s 69th Independence Day celebration at Gbi Atabu said “we are extensively investing in sanitation and environmental management as we lay the foundation for a stronger and more resilient Municipality.”
He said prosperity must go hand in hand with hope, adding that “hope is restored when young people see opportunities instead of obstacles and when communities have access to good roads, potable water, quality education, and reliable healthcare.”

Mr Kumi said the Assembly was also committed to strengthening collaboration with traditional authorities, opinion leaders, youth groups and development partners to accelerate progress in every corner of the Municipality.
He said development thrived in an atmosphere of peace and urged residents to preserve the peace the Municipality was known for.
The event was on the theme: “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope”.
Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Hohoe Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), said celebrating independence was not just about the freedom gained but also the celebration of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the founder.
He said through the help of God and stakeholders, there were tremendous improvements in lives of the citizenry.

Mr Tsekpo asked for patience from constituents in the development phase of the Constituency.
He lamented the status of the Constituency over the past eight years, especially road networks.
Mr Tsekpo said no economy could grow or develop without good roads.
He said there would be support towards the facelift of the Volta Regional Hospital to position it to respond effectively to clients.
Mr Tsekpo said unemployment was being tackled and hope by 2028 two factories would be established in the Constituency
Awards were given to deserving individuals who had contributed to the growth and development of the Municipality.
