Tema, March 03, GNA – Mr Ludwig Teye Totimeh, Tema West Municipal Chief Executive, has charged beneficiaries of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) to maintain and take good care of equipment presented to them under the programme.
Mr Totimeh gave the charge at the NAP equipment distribution ceremony, where four master craftsmen and their 45 apprentices received equipment, including industrial and hand-powered sewing machines, hair dryers, welding protective boots, auto-mechanic toolsets, hacksaws, and mannequin heads for wig-making.
“I want to tell the apprentices and master craftsmen that we are following and will come everywhere they work, everywhere they will train apprentices, to ensure that the items we gave them are working,” he emphasised.
He stressed that “they should take good care of them. It shouldn’t be that we give it to them today, and by next month when we come, some are broken, some are lost, and we don’t see some anymore.”
He advised beneficiaries to set good examples to enable others to also benefit from the initiative.
Mr Totimeh expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for fulfilling his promise.“He is someone who makes a promise and is sure to fulfil it,” he said.
