Over 100 Retired Pastors, Widows Benefit from Rev Wengam Medical Outreach in Ashanti

Kumasi, March 15, GNA – The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Reverend Stephen Yengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs Monica Wengam, have sponsored free medical screening and treatment for 135 retired pastors, their spouses, and widows of deceased pastors in the Ashanti Region.

The beneficiaries were drawn from the Ashanti East, Ashanti West and Ashanti North districts of the church.

The medical outreach, held at the Light House Assembly of God in Kumasi, also included the provision of lunch for all participants as well as an undisclosed cash gift to each beneficiary.

Reverend Wengam visited the venue to interact with the retired pastors, spouses and widows, and encouraged them, stressing the importance of good health and care for those who had faithfully served the church over the years.

Medical services were provided by the Cedar Medical Outreach Team, made up of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals from Cedar Mountain Chapel, East Legon, an Assemblies of God church.

This initiative marks the second time Reverend and Mrs Wengam have undertaken such a medical outreach programme in the region for retired pastors and their families.

The first medical screening and treatment exercise took place in February 2022 at the Emmanuel Temple Assembly of God in Kumasi.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Reverend and Mrs Wengam for the kind gesture, describing it as a demonstration of love and appreciation for the sacrifices made by retired ministers and the families of deceased pastors.
