Ziavi (V/R), March 02, GNA – Mr Mawutor Agbavitor, the Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has honoured the memory of the late Ziavi Paramount Chief, describing him as a spiritual compass and cultural pillar.
The tribute was delivered on Saturday during the burial and final funeral rites of Togbega Kwaku Ayim IV in the Ziavi Traditional Area, where hundreds gathered to pay their last respects.
Mr Agbavitor said the late chief stood as more than a traditional ruler, noting that his influence shaped the identity, cohesion and cultural strength of the Ziavi people.
“A traditional ruler is more than a custodian of stool; he is the spiritual compass and cultural pillar of his people,” he stated.
He explained that the passing of Togbega Ayim IV was not only a personal loss to his family but a collective moment of reflection for the entire community.
He added that the late chief’s leadership played a central role in preserving the values and heritage of Ziavi over the years.
The Regional Chairman commended the chiefs and people for maintaining unity during the period of mourning, emphasising that honouring the legacy of their late leader required continued commitment to peace and development.
“His transition reminds us of the foundations he laid and foundations we must protect,” he said.
He urged the community to uphold the principles of dignity, service and cultural pride championed by the late Paramount Chief, saying these values remained essential for the progress of Ziavi and the Volta Region.
Mr Agbavitor in his tribute made a call for collective strength and remembrance.
“May his memory remain a binding force of unity and may the strength of Ziavi continue to rise in the light of his enduring legacy,” he affirmed.
