Adidome (V/R), March 3, GNA – Mr Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu Constituency has joined his colleague MPs to support the successful organisation of the Mid-South Games at Adidome Senior High School with an amount of GHS30,000 and assorted sports kits.

The gesture, he said, was not merely a donation but a strategic investment in the development and future of the youth within the Tongu enclave.

Mr Lukutor with support from other MPs, District Chief Executives (DCEs), and other key stakeholders from Central and North Tongu also extended support to students of Sogakope Senior High School, St. Catherine Senior High School and Dabala Senior High Technical School with footballs and jerseys to boost morale and enhance their participation in sporting activities.

Addressing students at the games, the MP underscored the importance of sports as a critical tool for discipline, teamwork, and leadership development among young people.

He recounted his experience at the Milo Games in Dabala, where he rallied behind an Under-13 team that was trailing in a match, inspired them to believe in themselves, and pledged a winning bonus.

The team subsequently staged a remarkable 2–1 comeback victory, which he described as clear evidence that belief, encouragement, and purposeful leadership could yield positive results.

Mr Lukutor reminded students that academic excellence must go hand in hand with co-curricular activities, stressing that sports should complement education and not replace it.

“Discipline in the classroom and determination on the field together shape responsible and successful leaders,” he stated.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continue investing in education, discipline, and sports as key pillars for transformation and sustainable development in the South Tongu Constituency.
