Gomoa Ekroful (C/R), March 31, GNA -Nana Ekua Ahima Sikapa II, Dabiwhemaa of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, has reiterated calls on newly installed family Queen mothers to rally support for girl child education to help transform lives.
The Dabiwhemaa said both queen mothers and chiefs of various families in the Gomoa Ajumako Area had crucial roles to play to encourage, inspire and also boost girl child education.
She stressed that it was their responsibility to ensure that all girls who had dropped out from school went back to the classrooms, to continue their education for better future.
Nana Sikapa made the call at the installation of family Chiefs and Queen mothers at Gomoa Ekroful in the Gomoa Central District of the Central region.
The installation of Queens and Chiefs of families in the Traditional Area, was directed by Obrempon Nyanful Krampah XI, the Omanhene, as part of reforms to boost chieftaincy and ensure development in the area.
In all, four family Chiefs and two queen mothers were installed and swore an oath to Dabiwhemaa of Ekroful.
They would subsequently swear the Oath of Allegiance to Obrempon Nyanful Krampah XI, the Omanhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area on Tuesday, March 31, at Gomoa Ajumako in the Gomoa West District.
The installation ceremony was supervised by the Asihene of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Nana Esuon Abonyi Kwaata II who is also the chief of Gomoa Brofoyedur, together with other Divisional Chiefs of the area.
Nana Sikapa urged the newly installed queen mothers to join the crusade against teenage pregnancy among school girls because education was key to human success.
She called for support from organisations, corporate bodies, and individuals from Gomoa Ekroful to assist the development not only in educational pursuit but other areas to raise the living standards of the people.
Nana Sikapa cautioned the Youth who had cultivated the habit of insulting chiefs, Queen mothers and other prominent citizens on social media, to stop the act or face the law.
She disclosed that the chiefs and queen mothers during their vetting, promised to assist the campaign against drug abuse and also spearhead the welfare of the aged as well as children in the town.
They are Nana Kwesi Begyina Kuoko Mensah II Obaatan from Dehyena family of Ekroful, Nana Kobina Osam I and Nana Efuah Anowa I, both Benkumhene and Benkuhemaa of Agona No.2 family.
Nana Kweku Baah I and Nana Esi Ninson I, Ankobeahene and Ankobeahemaa from Asona No.2 family and Nana Buabeng II, Adontenhene from Tekyina family.
