District assemblies in Atwima enclave prepare to celebrate Independence Day

    Barekese (Ash) Mar 05, GNA – District assemblies in the Atwima enclave in the Ashanti region, have embark on clean-up exercises and sanitation activities as part of preparations towards the 69th Independence Day celebrations in the districts. 

They cleaned up some streets and graded routes leading to the Independence Day parade grounds at Abuakwa-Asenemaso M/A basic schools in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality and the forecourt of the Atwima Nwabiagya North district and parts of the Barekese town. 

Mr Wisdom Osei Boamah, Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal Chief Executive, speaking during the exercise, commended the staff of the assembly for their hard work and commitment to the exercise. 

He described it as part of their contributions to national development as part of their official duties. 

He urged the other workers to emulate the act and render their efforts to such activities whenever the need arose. 

Mr Boamah, also urged residents in the area to come out in their numbers to celebrate the nation with pride and patriotism on Friday, March 06, 2026. 

“As we commemorate 69 years of independence, let us reflect on the sacrifices of our forbearers and renew our commitment to unity, discipline and development”, he stated. 

In the Atwima Nwabiagya North, most of the staff showcased made in Ghana outfits during the exercise to commemorate Ghana month. 

Mr. Mba Zechariah Alenbilla, the DCE commended them for showcasing the Ghanaian identity, culture and heritage, since it promoted the Ghanaian tourism investment, which contributed to revenue generation of the country.
