Tema, March 10, GNA- Some residents seeking services at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) were left stranded on Tuesday, following an industrial action by members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG).
The strike, which is linked to concerns over working conditions, has disrupted operations at the assembly, preventing many clients from accessing essential public services.
At the TMA premises, several clients were turned away as staff members stayed away from their posts in compliance with the strike directive.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) observed that the entrance gate to the assembly was shut with four security guards at post who turned away clients and informed them of the strike action.
Some of the stranded clients expressed frustration over the situation, stating that they had come to the assembly to access services only to be informed upon arrival that staff were on strike.
Others who spoke to the GNA called for a swift resolution to the dispute to enable offices to resume normal operations and reduce inconvenience to the public.
CLOGSAG leadership directed all members within the Civil Service and Local Government Service to stay at home indefinitely beginning Monday, March 09, citing unresolved concerns regarding the conditions of service of its members.
