Ho (V/R), Feb. 1, GNA — Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister has participated in the validation and signing of performance contracts for Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs) in Kumasi.
The ceremony, organised by the Local Government Service, brought together Regional Ministers, Chief Directors, Heads of Departments and key stakeholders to reaffirm their
collective commitment to accountability, efficiency, and results-oriented governance across the regions.
Speaking in his capacity as the Dean of Regional Ministers, Mr Gunu expressed appreciation to the Head of the Local Government Service and his team for the successful organisation of the exercise.
He stressed that the performance contracts went beyond administrative formalities and constituted a solemn pledge to uphold responsibility, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

“This is not just another performance contract. It is a contract with clarity, purpose and direction, and it aligns strongly with the resetting agenda of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama,” he said.
He underscored that implementation of the contracts was mandatory, assuring that Regional Ministers were fully committed to delivering on the agreed targets for the benefit of their respective regions and the nation.
Mr Gunu was accompanied by the Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), Alhaji Mohammed Avona Akape.
The performance contract framework is expected to strengthen coordination, enhance service delivery, and improve the monitoring and evaluation of government programmes at the regional level.
