Ho (V/R), Feb 20, GNA â The Volta ECG Power Queens have once again demonstrated their commitment to community health with a timely donation to the Childrenâs Ward of the Ho Municipal Hospital.
The group presented a brand-new double-door refrigerator to the Paediatric Department at a brief but heartwarming ceremony to support the safe storage of vaccines.
The gesture followed an appeal by Ms Hajiatu Maudey, a nurse at the unit, who highlighted the urgent need for reliable refrigeration to ensure proper vaccine preservation and protect young patients.
Ms Rose Amegbletor, President of the Power Queens, said the donation was a response to a critical need identified by the department and formed part of the groupâs Corporate Social Responsibility to improve community wellbeing.
âWhen we were informed about the need for proper vaccine storage for the children, we knew we had to step in. Protecting the health of our children is a shared responsibility, and we are glad to contribute in this way,â she said.
Receiving the refrigerator on behalf of the department, Madam Monica Manti, Head of Paediatrics, expressed deep appreciation to the group for the support.
âWe are sincerely grateful for this timely donation. Proper vaccine storage is critical to effective child healthcare delivery, and this refrigerator will significantly enhance our capacity to preserve vaccines safely and efficiently,â she noted.
In a light-hearted but earnest remark, Nurse Maudey likened herself to Oliver Twist for boldly making the request and appealed to the Power Queens to consider adopting one of the wards within the Childrenâs Unit for sustained support.
The donation underscores the Volta ECG Power Queensâ dedication to impactful community service.
By strengthening vaccine storage capacity, the group has contributed directly to improving child healthcare delivery and safeguarding the wellbeing of children and families in the municipality.
