Oti Region: NAP urges youth to leverage apprenticeship programme to fight unemployment

By Kingsley Mamore

Dambai (O/R), Feb. 21, GNA – The National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) has urged youth in the Nkwanta North District to take advantage of its skills training initiative to reduce unemployment.

Mr Michael Mampah, Oti Regional Director of NAP, said the programme focuses on job creation and skills development in line with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) resetting agenda.

At an event in Kpassa, 30 apprentices and six master craft persons received training kits to support their work. Mr Mampah encouraged beneficiaries to take the programme seriously, noting that it offers practical skills to enhance employability.

The initiative seeks to tackle rising youth unemployment in the region and contribute to the government’s broader goal of reducing unemployment nationwide.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the government and the NAP regional office for the start-up kits, pledging to make good use of the opportunity to build skills and secure sustainable livelihoods.
