Ho, Feb. 13, GNA – One person has died and 15 others were injured in an accident at Peki Tsame in the South Dayi District, Volta Region.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) from Peki Fire Station responded on the Peki–Asikuma Highway.
Assistant Divisional Officer One (ADOI) Hope Bedzra, Volta Regional Public Relations Officer, said the rescue team, led by ADOI Godwin Gbedemah, acted swiftly to assist passengers.
Preliminary reports indicate the accident occurred after a Toyota Hiace (registration GT 7012-24) suffered a rear tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle subsequently somersaulted off the road.
The injured were transported by the National Ambulance Service to Peki Government Hospital. One victim later died, while the remaining passengers are in stable condition and responding to treatment.
