Accra, Feb. 3, GNA – Madam Rita Odoley Sowah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dade Kotopon, has donated medical equipment and air conditioners to the La Polyclinic to enhance healthcare delivery in the constituency.
The items, valued at GHC90,000, comprise two Multi-Parameter Patient Monitors and two air conditioners.
Presenting the items, Madam Sowah said the donation formed part of her efforts to support health facilities in the constituency to provide quality and efficient care to patients.
“It is my belief that these items will improve patient monitoring and provide comfort at the facility,” she said.
Dr. Ernest Quansah, the Medical Superintendent of the La Polyclinic, who received the items, described the donation as timely and expressed appreciation to the MP for the support.
He assured her that the equipment would be put to judicious use to improve service delivery and patient care.
In a related development, Madam Sowah also made cash donations totalling GHC105,000 to tertiary students in the constituency.
The beneficiaries, numbering 70, each received GHC1,500 to assist with their academic and living expenses.
She explained that the donations were sourced from her Health Fund and Common Fund respectively.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Madam Sowah admonished them to take their studies seriously and strive to be positive role models to their peers both on campus and within the constituency.
She encouraged them to remain focused and disciplined, noting that education remained critical to personal development and national progress.
Some of the students who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) expressed gratitude to the MP, saying the financial support would go a long way in making their stay in school more bearable.
