GES gives approval to the celebration of EPCG Education Week

Ho, Feb 17, GNA – The Ghana Education Service (GES) has given approval for the celebration of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church 2026 Education Week. 

The weeklong celebration is on the theme “Cleanliness, Is Next to Godliness: The Role of Education Stakeholders.”  

The celebration, which began on Sunday, 15th February 2026, would end on Sunday, 22nd February 2026.  

The go-ahead from the GES for the celebration was contained in a letter, sighted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) with the heading “Re: Permission to organize EPCG Schools Education Week dated January 28, 2026. 

The letter, which was signed by Professor Smile Dzisi, the Acting Deputy Director General of the GES on behalf of the Acting Director General, was addressed to the Acting General Manager of the EPC Education Unit. 

The letter stated that “the GES is pleased to inform you that approval has been granted to the EPC Education Unit to hold its 2026 Education Week. 

It said the GES believes that the event would serve as an excellent opportunity for the Church to celebrate its accomplishments and dedication in the education sector. 

The letter hoped it would also be used to reflect on its educational activities. 

Programme of activities lined up for the celebration copied to the GNA are Sunday, February 15 national launch, Monday, 16th, a route March in all Church communities, Tuesday, February 17th, courtesy call on traditional and political leaders and Wednesday, 18th, school-based quiz competitions. 

The others are Thursday, 19th, homecoming, school durbar, exhibition and fundraising, Friday, 20th games and debate on the theme for Colleges of Education, Senior High Schools and Technical Vocational Institutes and Sunday 22nd February national Thanksgiving service and simultaneously in all congregations of the Church.
