Kyiritwedie, (Bono), Feb. 27, GNA- Personal belongings and properties running into thousands of Ghana cedis have been destroyed when fire gutted a house at Kyiritwedie in the Berekum Municipality of the Bono Region.
The inferno gutted the compound house, near the Berekum Central Market around 1500hours, however, no casualty was recorded.
An eyewitness, Kwadwo Baah told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to the scene that they just noticed a smoke emanating and before they realised the house burst into flames, saying that efforts to suppress the fire were unsuccessful.
He said when the personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) got to the scene, the fire had already burnt parts of the house, saying that they managed to bring the situation under control to prevent the fire from extending to other houses and properties.
Personnel of the GNFS spoke to the GNA on condition of anonymity and added that they were investigating to ascertain the cause of the outbreak.
