Adaklu Wumenu (V/R), Feb. 12, GNA – Mr Christopher Galenkui, the Assemblyman for Adaklu Wumenu Electoral Area in the Adaklu district Wednesday reiterated that education remained the most powerful tool for eradicating poverty from society.

He stated that it was also a tool for breaking barriers which hindered human development.

Mr Galenkui stated this when he inspected work on an ultra-modern Kindergarten (KG) block for Adaklu Wumenu basic school.

The project will comprise two classrooms, a kitchen, three washrooms, a playground, and a well-fenced perimeter wall.

Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, the Adaklu District Chief Executive cut the sod for start of the project on Thursday, January 29, 2026, and was expected to be completed in six months.

It is being funded by the Assembly’s Common Fund.

Mr Galenkui noted that “investing in the younger generation is investing in a brighter and more prosperous future.”

He intimated that early childhood education played a critical role in shaping the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.

Mr Galenkui who is also the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority said with access to quality learning facilities from the start, children from the area would be better positioned to excel academically and contribute meaningfully to society.

He noted that the project was not only an ultra- modern KG structure but laying out a solid foundation for formal education.

“This project is a major step towards strengthening basic education in the area,” he stated.

The Assemblyman praised Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu and Mr Jerry Yao Ameko Adaklu the District Chief Executives for their unwavering commitment to prioritising education in the area.

“Their support towards improving educational infrastructure demonstrated visionary leadership and genuine concern for the future of children of Adaklu,” he stated.

Mr Galenkui commended the contractor for the progress of work so far and described the project as a significant milestone for the community.
