Ho-Fiave (V/R), Feb 23, GNA – Christians have been urged to rise to their divine mandate of transforming society through the proclamation of the Gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Deaconess Divine Gadzekpo, preaching on Sunday, said God had called believers to be agents of change in their communities.
The sermon, on the theme: “The Church Unleashed to Transform Society Through the Gospel and the Power of the Holy Spirit,” was delivered at the Fiave Central Assembly of The Church of Pentecost in the Ho Municipality,
She referred to John 5:23–29, and said God was the source of life and had given life to humanity through Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself and rose again on the third day to bring salvation, goodness and newness of life to all who believed.
She said accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Personal Saviour brought transformation, sanctification and renewal through the Word of God, the blood of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
“When you receive Christ, He transforms you into light to shine in darkness,” she stated.
Deaconess Gadzekpo said the Church had been commissioned to go into the East, West, North and South to preach the Gospel and positively impact the world.
He prayed for the Holy Spirit to strengthen believers to live exemplary lives that would draw others to Christ.
“All we have to do is live a life that pleases God and let others see Christ in us,” she said.
Deaconess Gadzekpo reminded the congregation that the Father had entrusted judgment to the Son and that a time was coming when all who were in their graves would hear His voice and rise—those who had done good, to life, and those who had done evil, to judgment.
She, therefore, urged Christians to search their hearts, overcome every obstacle that hindered their walk with Christ, and make the right choices in obedience to God’s Word.
“Everything else will pass away, but God will reign forever,” she said.
Deaconess Gadzekpo encouraged the congregation to recognise the truth, walk in it faithfully and remain steadfast until the end.
She concluded with a prayer for God’s guidance and strength for believers to uphold righteousness and reflect Christ in their daily lives.
