Sumbrungu (U/E), Feb. 16, GNA – A staff member of the Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU), Mr Francis Akipoe Atingane, his wife, and their daughter have died in a fatal road crash at Anateem, a suburb of Sumbrungu in the Bolgatanga Municipality.
The incident occurred on the night of Sunday, February 15, 2026, when a Yutong bus reportedly ran over the three, who were travelling on a motorbike, killing them instantly.
Eyewitnesses said the bus, which was travelling from Navrongo towards Bolgatanga, attempted to overtake another vehicle and crashed into the motorbike, which was coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased couple and their daughter were said to be heading from Sumbrungu to Anateem to attend a funeral.
All three have since been buried.
