Voting underway at NPP headquarters

Accra, Jan. 31, GNA -Voting has commenced at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra, where the party’s top hierarchy is expected to cast their ballots in the ongoing presidential primary.

National executives, directors, members of the Council of Elders, former president, party patrons, and diasporan representatives are among those scheduled to vote in the exercise.

In all, more than 900 delegates are anticipated to participate in the ballot, which will determine the next flagbearer of the Party, ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The atmosphere at the headquarters is calm with heavy police presence.

Security has been heightened at the venue to ensure smooth conduct of the elections, while accredited observers and media representatives are present to monitor proceedings.

The outcome of the polls is expected to shape the party’s leadership direction ahead of 2028 national contests.
