Sunyani (Bono), Jan 12, GNA – Phase Two of the Ghana Police Service enlistment exercise commenced at the Sunyani Jubilee Park on Monday, with the Service providing snacks and water to hundreds of applicants undergoing the process.
The applicants, expected to undergo body selection and documentation during the five-day exercise, were refreshed with non-alcoholic beverages, biscuits, and bottled water.
During a visit to the Jubilee Park, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) observed that the Service had mounted several canopies and seats to provide shade for the applicants.
Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Administration, told the media that the enlistment exercise was being conducted in two sessions—morning and afternoon—to control and manage the crowd.
Applicants are required to report to their assigned centres with original documents and photocopies, including application summary reports, biometric birth certificates, Ghana Cards, high school certificates, two passport-sized photographs, and other educational certificates.
He explained that the morning session ended around 1000 hours with 389 applicants successfully going through the process, adding that the afternoon session was expected to begin at 1200 hours.
Chief Inspector Akeelah described the exercise as smooth and without hitches, assuring that all applicants would undergo the enlistment process.
Some applicants who spoke to the GNA praised the Police for the refreshments, describing the exercise as “stress-free.”
