Oti Minister unveils ambitious 2026 agenda to transform region

Dambai (O/R) Jan 17, GNA- Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has unveiled an ambitious agenda for 2026, aiming to transform the region’s economy and improve the lives of its residents.

The plans include the construction of airstrips, military barracks, a modern fish market and a bridge over River Oti in Dambai.

Additionally, the government plans to establish a Regional Hospital, a university and several farm centers.

Mr Gyapong highlighted the construction of the Pepesu-Nkwanta Road under Big Push initiative, as well as two irrigation projects covering about 24, 200 hectares. These projects are expected to boost economic activities, create Jobs and improve access to essential services.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the Minister expressed confidence that the projects would have a significant impact on the region’s development, saying, “If I happen to list all the projects government initiated in the region 2026 alone, Ghanaians will clap for President Mahama’s government”,

The transformation of the Oti Region is part of the government’s Big Push Agenda, a $10bn initiative aimed at accelerating economic growth, creating employment opportunities and raising the standard of living across the area.
