Dambai (O/R), Jan 26, GNA – Six hundred and eighty-three delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Krachi East Constituency are expected to vote on January 31, 2026, at the Dambai College of Education (DACE) to decide on the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
The delegates have been reminded to carry identification documents, including Voter ID Cards, Ghana Cards, Passport Cards, NHIS Cards and any other document bearing their picture and identity.
The election is expected to be keenly contested with five presidential aspirants. They are Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, Mr Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.
Mr Charles Gyamfi Boateng Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Krachi East, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) emphasised the party’s commitment to supporting the winner.
He said: “As the leader of the party in the area, we would support any candidate who wins the election and becomes our flagbearer.”
Mr Boateng also assured that security measures are in place, with the police service engaged to ensure a peaceful election. He advised party sympathizers to avoid wearing candidate-specific attire or paraphernalia to the polling station.
The outcome of the election is expected to shape the NPP’s future direction and readiness for the 2028 general elections.
