Tema, Jan. 20, GNA — The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has assured customers of Tema and its environs of the restoration of water supply after repair works are completed on a burst transmission pipeline.
Mr Sampson Ampah, the Communications Manager of the GWL, Tema Region, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that there was a burst on the 42-inch transmission pipeline at Kpong Water Treatment Plant.
Mr Ampah said GWL Engineers were working hard to repair the burst, adding that as a result, water flow to the entire Tema township has been interrupted.
He said the repair works had affected supply to customers in the eastern part of Accra, Tema, and communities served by the Kpong Water Treatment Plant.
He gave the assurance that water production would resume immediately after the repair works were completed, adding that the company would provide an update on the situation.
