Twifo Nyamebekyere (C/R), Jan. 04, GNA – Nana Kofi Akoi II, the Chief of Twifo Nyamebekyere in the Twifo-Hemang- Lower-Denkyira District, has appealed to parents to encourage their wards to study modern technology, science, and engineering.
He emphasised that these fields were crucial for the development and growth of the community.
During the Twifo Nyamebeyere homecoming event, he urged parents to support the government’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) initiatives, highlighting that such support was essential for the progress of their children and the community at large.
His appeal also focused on a specific project, being the construction of an ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) center for the Twifo NyameKyerkyere D/A Basic School and the renovation of six classroom units.
The initiative aimed to provide better educational facilities, thereby enhancing learning opportunities for students, fostering a culture of innovation and growth within the community.
Mr Joseph Okanta, the Assembly Member for the Paaso – Nyamebeyere electoral area, called on stakeholders, particularly NGOs, to assist in the reconstruction of the Junior High School (JHS) block in Twifo Nyamebeyere.
He also urged parents to enrol their children of school going age in school and never to shirk their responsibilities to see their children through their education.
