Torwukunor (Near Big-Ada), Jan. 16, GNA-The Ada District Police Command has commenced investigations into an alleged unlawful demolition of buildings at Big-Ada, reportedly carried out by one Mr Samuel Zebulon Okudzeto, a popular litigant in the area.

The investigation, which began on January 15, 2026, followed a petition submitted by Mr Patrick Mawunyegah, which was officially received by the Police on January 8, 2026.

Confirming the development in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Superintendent Lovelace Kofi Glago, the Ada District Police Commander, said the petitioner had been invited and interrogated as part of ongoing investigations.

Superintendent Glago said the suspect had also been invited to assist the Police with investigations into the matter, assuring that the command would conduct a thorough probe and deal with any person found culpable in accordance with the law.

According to the petitioner, the dispute dated back to March 2025, when Mr Okudzeto and another individual, Mr Ebenezer Narh Kwesi Domeh, allegedly claimed ownership of land occupied by residents of Torwukunor, a community near Dzitrokope in Big Ada, and demanded that the residents vacate the area.

Mr Mawunyegah alleged that on December 13, 2025, Mr Okudzeto, accompanied by armed persons believed to be land guards, stormed the community, and began fencing the area, adding that the following day, December 14, 2025, houses and other properties were demolished without a court order.

He alleged that the incident rendered several residents homeless and caused significant economic losses, adding that earlier attempts to lodge complaints at the local Police station did not result in immediate action.

The Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to uphold the rule of law and encouraged all parties involved to remain calm as investigations continue.

He also advised the public to always follow up with the Police whenever they made a complaint or submitted a petition against someone to assist the police with investigations.
