NPP Minority Caucus resignation of Lands and Natural Resources Minister

Accra, Dec 17, GNA – The New Patriotic Party Minority Caucus in Parliament has called for the resignation of Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah over the withdrawn lithium mining agreement, citing inconsistencies and lack of transparency.

The agreement, which was initially approved with a 10 per cent royalty rate, was withdrawn due to alleged inadequate consultations and a sharp drop in global lithium prices.

At a press conference in Parliament House, Accra, on Wednesday, Mr Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, argued that the minister’s actions had undermined public confidence and weakened Ghana’s negotiating position.
