National Sanitation Day Exercise: Kparekpare Assemblyman champions community clean-up

Dambai (O/R), Dec 6, GNA – Mr Isaac Kaliwa, Assembly member of Kparekpare Electoral Area in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, has led the charge in the community ‘s National Sanitation Day Exercise, rallying residents to clean up their surroundings and promote a healthy environment.  

The Assembly member credited the concept of National Sanitation Day Exercise to President John Dramani Mahama and his government, who introduced the initiative to promote community-led sanitation efforts and prevent disease outbreak in the country.  

The exercise saw residents sweeping, clearing weeds and removing waste from the community market area.  

Mr Kaliwa’s initiative sparked a wave of enthusiasm among residents, who were inspired by his example.   

“The future of our community is in your hands, encouraging them to continue leading the charge in subsequent sanitation exercise,” he stressed.  

Mr Adams Aziz, a community member, also emphasized the crucial role of youth in driving development in Ghana’s towns and communities.  

“Every developing town lies on the shoulders of the youth, highlighting the importance of young people’s involvement in community initiatives.  

He urged Ghanaian youth to champion community development efforts and make sacrifices to improve their surroundings.  

“Wherever you are, help to clean up your community, participate in initiatives that promote development, and encourage others to do same,” he appealed.
