Ho, Dec. 31, GNA – The Right Reverend Dr. Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Agbeko (Rtd), Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), has urged Ghanaians to unite and work together to build a resilient economy in the new year.
“Let us all work together to build our beloved country into a nation of unity, goodness, prosperity and spiritual growth,” he stated in his New Year message copied to the Ghana News Agency in Ho.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Agbeko emphasized that only the love and righteousness of God could guide the nation in achieving this vision.
He announced that the General Assembly’s theme for 2026 is: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness, keep clean.”
The Moderator explained that cleanliness transcends a tidy environment, extending to purity of self, character, heart, mind, and attitude.
“Cleanliness is holistic, empowering the entire being – spirit, soul and body. It is the foundation of a healthy life and wholesome environment where God Himself dwells among His people and blesses them,” he said.
The Moderator urged Ghanaians to forgive those who wronged them, guard their minds and emotions against evil, and strengthen their faith by trusting fully in God.
He also called for care of the environment to ensure it remains healthy, beautiful and worthy of God’s presence.
He reminded citizens that keeping clean reflects the nature and goodness of God, promotes peace, and reveals His glory in their lives.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Agbeko prayed for wisdom and unity for the nation’s leadership to continue working together for the good of Ghana.
He encouraged all to use the season to strengthen their relationships with God and their neighbours, and wished the nation a prosperous new year.
