Dambai (O/R), Dec. 29, GNA – A significant step has been taken towards establishing a new fire station in Biakoye District of the Oti Region, with the Abotoase Traditional Area releasing two-acre land for the project.

The land was handed over to authorities about three years ago by Dr Richard Bisimpo, then as Regional Fire Safety Officer.

The site has undergone due diligence and is now awaiting final approval from Regional and National authorities.

A visit to the proposed site led by Dr Bisimpo, the District Fire Officer (D.O.II) Mr Bright Agboka and Assistant District Fire Officer (A.D.O.I) on Sunday, December 28,2025, had made a stop at the Abotoase market to investigate a recent fire outbreak.

The team however donated four fire extinguishers, two dry powder and two carbon dioxide to traditional leaders as a precautionary measure.

The new fire service station, when successful establish will enhance emergency response capabilities in the Biakoye District.
