Keta (VR), Dec 19, GNA- Keta based SandCity Radio 88.9 MHz in the Volta Region has announced to organise its annual ‘End of Year Health Walk’ on December 27, 2025.
The target of the exercise was to promote health and wellness among participants, the cherished listeners, business partners, panelists, and staff.
Mr Dennis Eli Junior, the Head of Sports at the SandCity radio, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said that the 2025 Health Walk would be the 5th edition of the annual event which would highlight growing popularity and impact.
“I hope that all participants will benefit greatly from this health walk initiative through improved physical fitness to create awareness of healthy lifestyles,” he said.
Mr. Eli Junior explained that various dignitaries such as politicians, heads of institutions, and assembly members are expected to take part in the event to showcase community support to promote healthy lifestyles for better living.
He said the walk would start from Busco Junction (Keta Business College junction) at about 0500 hours and through the principal street of Keta and would end at Emancipation Beach resort.
“After the walk, aerobics and other physical exercises will be conducted to further promote physical activities among participants. This has been our usual event and l promise you this upcoming exercise will be unique.”
He urged the public to come in their numbers and participate in the end-of-year health-promoting walk to enjoy its benefits and foster community spirit, adding that,” SandCity Radio is encouraging everyone in Keta and beyond to join the walk to the Golden Sand City.”
He said the previous events were successful and entertaining, and the expectations were that this year’s exercise would bring thousands of participants including aerobics instructors, local musicians, traditional leaders, brass bands and others for a memorable exercise.
Mr Eli Junior said that this year’s exercise is on theme, “Let’s walk to the Golden Sand City,” which emphasised unity and health awareness in the community with organisers expecting a large turnout of enthusiastic walkers and supporters to grace the event.
He said the health walk was one of the impactful and collaborative events aimed at bringing the public together under the same umbrella in unity and was also part of SandCity Radio’s efforts to engage the community in healthy activities and social events.
Some residents of Keta the GNA engaged expressed excitement and readiness for the much-awaited health promoting health walk to mark the end of the year and thanked the radio station for their timely and educational information over the years.
