Accra, Dec. 12, GNA – The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and allied security agencies have conducted a coordinated vehicular “Show of Force” across Accra to demonstrate inter‑agency readiness ahead of the Christmas season.
The exercise, which began at the Black Star Square and moved through major routes in the capital, aimed to balance visible deterrence with civilian protection as agencies prepared for increased movement and commercial activity during the festive period.
Speaking after the exercise, Mr. Ernest Brogya Genfi, Deputy Minister for Defence, said the mechanised route march was intended to reassure citizens of the agencies’ preparedness to protect them rather than to intimidate.

He commended the unity and professionalism displayed and reaffirmed government’s commitment to modern equipment, enhanced training, and improved welfare for security personnel.
Service chiefs present, including Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of the Defence Staff, and Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Inspector‑General of Police, said the exercise was designed to strengthen operational readiness, deter criminal activity and test joint planning and logistics.
Lt. Gen. Agyapong praised the participating agencies for their cooperation and urged continued vigilance as the festive season approached.
