Accra, Dec. 18, GNA – The road leading to the Ga East Municipal Hospital is undergoing reshaping under the District Road Improvement Programme to improve access to the health facility.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday in Accra said the reshaping, which began on Monday, December 15, 2025, was expected to ease vehicular movement to and from the hospital.

It said the intervention would particularly benefit ambulances and emergency vehicles and provide relief to patients, residents and motorists who use the road.

The statement said that at the commencement of works, residents and motorists expressed appreciation to the Ga East Municipal Chief Executive and the Municipal Assembly for responding to long-standing concerns about the poor state of the road.

“They noted that the reshaping exercise will enhance safety, reduce travel time and improve overall access to healthcare services at the municipal hospital,” it said.

The statement said the works were being carried out under the technical guidance of the Municipal Roads Engineer, Mr Daniel Okyere, with the District Road Improvement Programme Coordinator, Mr Seth Agboyi, supervising to ensure quality and timely delivery.

“The Municipal Assembly assures residents that it remains committed to improving road infrastructure across the municipality to support socio-economic activities and access to essential services,” it said.
