Fun club donates learning materials to senior secondary and technical schools

Ntotroso (Ahafo), Dec. 01, GNA – Mr Alex Boampong, a local contractor and native of Gyedu  

has distributed 4,500 worth of educational materials to 11 selected schools in the Asutifi North District to support the success of education in the area. 

The donation comprising exercise books and other learning materials was to enhance teaching and learning resources for both students and teachers. 

The beneficiary schools included Gyamfi  Kumahinin Senior High and Technical School, Ntotroso Midwife Training College, Twereku Ampem SHS and several basic schools. 

 Mr  Boampong popularly known as ‘Alexi Boam,’ made the donation at the launch of some activities by the Alexi Boam Fun Club, a social organisation based in Ntotroso, to honour him for his benevolent activities in the area.  

In addition to the books provided, Mr Boampong presented GHS 50,000 cash to the 56 members of the Alexi Boam Fun Club as an interest-free loan, to support their daily business activities. 

In an interview, with the Ghana News Agency at Ntotroso, Madam Persis Adu Yeboah, the Secretary of the Alexi Boam Fun Club, thanked Mr Boampong for his kindness and humility, noting his longstanding social responsibility efforts to ensure the wellbeing of the people in the communities. 

He urged others to emulate the gesture to help alleviate the plight of the needy in society. 

Mr Boampong advised the beneficiary students to take their studies seriously to ensure a brighter future for the region and to achieve their goals in life.  

He also pledged to continue his social responsibilities to enhance the well-being of people in the area, as part of his giving back to society. 

Residents who were present at the event commended the local contractor for his numerous contributions towards education and development in the area.
