Sege, Dec. 02, GNA – The Doxazo Foundation, a non-government organisation, has organised a leadership seminar aimed at equipping individuals and church leaders with the mindset, discipline and skills needed to promote organisational growth and effective teamwork.

Reverend Dr Sampson Agbemabiese, the District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, Sege Central, speaking on the theme “The Purpose of Leadership in an Organisation”, emphasised that leadership begins with a clear and compelling vision backed by the courage to pursue it.

Drawing from Acts Chapter 7, he said every successful organisation begins with a well-defined vision, stating that “There can be no provision without vision. God cannot raise you above the level of your thinking.”

Rev. DrAgbemabiese cautioned churches against relying solely on miracles and healing without establishing long-term developmental plans, noting that ministries without vision often struggle to sustain growth.

He said effective leadership requires the ability to motivate team members, guide them towards shared goals, and model strong values such as boldness, firmness, and principled decision-making.

The district pastor urged organisational and church leaders to surround themselves with people who uplift, challenge and inspire them, adding, “Do not move with people who discourage you. Walk with people of high standards.”

He explained that individuals are often attracted to the kind of people who reflect the values and atmosphere of their place of worship.

Touching on organisational discipline, Rev. DrAgbemabiese encouraged leaders to remain firm in decision-making irrespective of the diversity of professionals they work with, stressing that leaders must always protect and defend their organisation’s vision.

â€śChange people who do not move with your vision and create the environment that reflects the kind of leader you want to be,” he told participants.

The seminar forms part of the Doxazo Foundation’s ongoing efforts to build leadership capacity, promote excellence, and empower community members to contribute meaningfully to development.
