DCE praises Government for increment and regular release of PWD’s funds

 Kukuom (Ahafo) Dec.02 -. Mr. Benjamin Yinkah, the Asunafo  District Chief Executive ((DCE) has lauded the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government and President John Dramani Mahama, for increasing the funds of the People with Disability (PWDs). 

He observed that the funds were released regularly and on time to help improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries. 

 The DCE explained that the Disability Common Fund (DCF), which forms five per cent of the District Assemblies Common Fund, was a social protection initiative established by the government of Ghana to support and empower persons with disabilities. 

Mr. Yinkah made this known in an interview with the media after a presentation of some items to over 96 PWD’S from Norbekwa and kukuom in the Ahafo Region. 

The items presented included refrigerators, fufu pounding machines, sewing machines, and wheelchairs. 

The distributed items, he said, aimed at equipping beneficiaries with tools to achieve financial and social independence.  

Mr.Akwasi Sarpong chairman of the Ghana federation of physically challenge at  Asunafo South on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the government and the DCE for the gesture which has been of help to the people and their families.
