Sunyani (Bono), Dec. 20, GNA – Two dedicated staff members of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) Sunyani Area have been recognised by the Bono Regional Office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) for their exceptional performance in 2025.
Mr Eugene Odoi Adoo, Sunyani Area Manager of NEDCo, and Mr Sylvester Samuel Jackson, Area Supervisor at Wamfie, both received citations for their hard work and commitment during PURCs end of year dinner in Sunyani.
The annual dinner, hosted by the PURC regional office, brought together stakeholders to reflect on the year’s achievements and look ahead to the future.
Mr Patrick Antwi, PURC’s Regional Manager for Bono and Ahafo, praised the honourees for their resilience and dedication acknowledging their support for NEDCo’s operations despite challenges.
Mr Antwi also expressed gratitude to the PURC regional team for their continued support in addressing the volume of complaints received, saying they were always available to respond to each and everyone.
Speaking at the event, Mr Adoo acknowledged the complexities of managing electricity distribution in the Sunyani area.
He emphasised the importance of the partnership between PURC and NEDCo, saying it had been instrumental in improving service delivery.
He said NEDCo had committed to keeping the power on, through its significant investments to strengthen the network in the operational area, and consumers could expect more stable power in the coming year.
On his part, Mr Jackson promised that the recognition would not be a ‘nine-day’ wonder but would serve as a motivation for him to work harder in ensuring that consumer concerns were addressed promptly.
