Accra, Nov. 4, GNA – Mr Andy Appiah-Kubi, counsel for Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Wontumi, has informed an Accra High Court that they have not been served with disclosures from the State.
During proceedings at Criminal Court Four, he recalled that the court had previously directed the State to file its disclosures.
“As we speak, we haven’t been served with any of such processes,” he said.
Maame Osae Gyamerah, a State Attorney, told the court that the Republic filed its disclosures on October 31, 2025, and requested a short adjournment to serve the documents on the accused and his legal team.
The trial judge confirmed that the Attorney-General’s office filed the disclosures on October 31 at 1245 hours, but noted that there was no proof of service on record.
The case was adjourned to November 12, 2025.
Boasiako is accused of permitting two individuals to undertake mining operations on the Akonta Mining Company Limited concession without approval from the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
He faces two counts of assignment of mineral rights without approval and two counts of facilitating unlicensed mining operations at Samreboi in the Western Region.
Kwame Antwi, a director of Akonta Mining Company Limited, who faces similar charges, is currently at large.
Boasiako has denied the charges and is on bail of GH¢15 million.
