Battor, Nov 18, GNA– Mr Mawutor Agbavitor, Volta Regional National Democratic Congress Chairman, has visited Ms Constance Zotorvi, a North Tongu resident injured during the El-Wak military recruitment stampede.
Mr Agbavitor, who was on a working visit to the North Tongu Constituency, met the victim and her family to express solidarity and offer support following the traumatic incident.
Ms Zotorvi suffered serious injuries to her right elbow and shoulder and was currently in a sling.
Recounting the ordeal, she described the experience as “painful and frightening,” noting that she had difficulty breathing and struggled to escape the crowd surge.
The victim is expected to return to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra in the coming days for a medical review.
Mr Agbavitor assured the family that the party and the region would stand firmly by her throughout her recovery.
“We will ensure she receives all the support and entitlements due her as a victim of this unfortunate situation.”
The Regional Chairman also donated some money to assist with her immediate medical and personal needs.
He conveyed warm regards from Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, who was currently on official duties outside the country.
Mr Agbavitor emphasised his personal commitment to follow up on all promises made to victims of the stampede.
“This will not be one of those cases where people are forgotten after the news fade,” he stressed, assuring that Ms Zotorvi’s welfare would be monitored until her full recovery.
