Accra, Nov. 1, GNA – Solevo Group Ghana, a supplier of farm and industrial inputs, has donated 500 bags of NPK fertiliser and other agricultural inputs valued at GHS120,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in support of the 2025 National Farmers’ Day celebration.
The donation forms part of the company’s contribution toward this year’s event, scheduled to take place on December 5, 2025, in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.
Presenting the items in Accra, Mr Kenneth Badong, Managing Director of Solevo Group Ghana, said the gesture followed an appeal from the Ministry to corporate bodies to support the national event.
“Solevo Group is donating 500 bags of NPK fertilisers and other farm inputs amounting to GHS120,000 to support this year’s celebration,” he said. “We believe this contribution will help improve productivity and support the livelihoods of farmers.”
He said, the Group remained committed to working with the agricultural sector to enhance crop yields and sustainable production.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr Paul Siameh, Chief Director of the Ministry, commended Solevo Group for responding to the call for support.
“We receive these items with gratitude and assure you that they will be distributed appropriately to the award-winning farmers during the event,” he said.
“The ultimate beneficiaries are our hardworking farmers across the country.”
Mr Siameh encouraged agribusinesses and stakeholders in the agricultural value chain to participate in the five-day agricultural exhibition to be held ahead of the main event in Ho.
The exhibition, he said, would provide a platform for input dealers, processors, and farmers to display agricultural products and technologies.
The annual National Farmers’ Day was instituted by government in 1985 to honour the country’s farmers and fishers for their role in national development.
The National Farmers’ Day celebration recognises the contribution of Ghanaian farmers and fishers to food security, employment, and foreign exchange earnings. Each year, deserving farmers and fishers are honoured at a grand ceremony attended by the President.
