Accra, Nov. 19, GNA- The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has congratulated Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie on his appointment as the 16th Chief Justice of Ghana.
In a statement signed by Mr Samuel Afotey Otu, National President, JUSAG in Accra, JUSAG pledged its fullest support in the pursuit of the Chief Justice’s strategic vision of providing Ghanaians with equal access to quality justice.
“For Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana, you have our fullest support in the pursuit of your strategic vision of providing Ghanaians with equal access to quality justice,” the statement said.
It said, “Lord Chief Justice your appointment as the head of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service comes at the time the independence of the judiciary is on trial following years of perceived lost of confidence in the third arm of the state.”
The statement noted that though Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s tenure was short, so much was expected by the people, Staff of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service.
“Indeed, so much has to be done to transform the image of the judiciary and Judicial Service to boost the dwindling confidence of Ghanaians in the Judiciary.
Your tenure shall be measured, not by the length of leadership, but by the magnitude of the impact witnessed by people who consume the service of justice delivery, the statement said.
It said, “We know you. We have experienced you. And we are very confident in your ability to deliver the desired outcomes that meet the test of our contemporary times.
“During the period of acting role, we witnessed significant developments that give us hope that the welfare, professional development, and integrity of the Service would be prioritized,” it added.
On Monday November 17, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama swore Justice Baffoe-Bonnie into office as the 16th Chief Justice of Ghana.
This was after he has been vetted and approved by Ghana’s Parliament.
