Accra, Nov. 5, GNA – Prof. John Gartchie Gatsi, the Board Chairman of the Energy Commission, says the Commission will continue to align its operations with the needs of the Ghanaian electricity market.
He also called for stronger collaboration with institutions such as ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority, West African Power Pool and the Ghana Standards Authority.
Prof Gatsi made this known at a stakeholders engagement drive with Chief Executives of Independent Power Producers in Accra.
The engagement was to enhance cooperation and to address key concerns
The Board Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to fairness, transparency, and partnership.
On local content, he clarified that, “we will not lower the bar but assured that steps are being taken to address the challenges faced by industry players.”
He expeessed commitment to building a transparent, sustainable, and resilient energy market that supports Ghana’s long-term development goals.
He announced the appointment of the Chief Inspector of Electricity to oversee compliance and technical standards within the sector.
