Accra, Nov. 24, GNA – The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ghana has marked its 60th anniversary with a dinner and awards night in Accra, urging stronger commitment towards transforming the country’s logistics, transport and supply chain sectors.
Mr Mark Amoamah, President of CILT Ghana, said the milestone offered the Institute an opportunity to reflect on six decades of professional development and its role in shaping national logistics and transport systems.
“This is the remarkable climax of our year-long commemoration of CILT Ghana’s 60th Anniversary,” he said.
“Six decades of setting benchmarks, of ‘professionalising’ the supply chain, and fostering excellence in logistics and transport. We stand here tonight with pride, celebrating an incredible legacy built on firm dedication.”
He said the anniversary also called for renewed dedication to strengthen the supply chain and to influence policy reforms that would support national development.
“As we celebrate tonight’s awardees, the trailblazers and the visionaries, let us also recommit ourselves to the broader mission of transforming Ghana’s economic narrative through logistics, transport and supply chain. Let us be intentional in our efforts to influence policy,” he added.
Mr Amoamah expressed appreciation to individuals and groups whose efforts had sustained the Institute’s work over the years.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who have contributed to the success of the Institute, from our dedicated LTC Planning Committee, 60th Anniversary Planning Committee, Secretariat Team and every individual who has played a role in making this event a reality,” he said.
Pastor Kwame Boateng-Sarpong, Chairman of the 60th Anniversary Celebration, commended long-serving members of the Institute and paid special tribute to the Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) for their contributions to professional development.
The event also honoured outstanding members and organisations whose work has advanced the Institute’s mission and strengthened standards across the logistics and transport sector.
