Accra, Nov. 21, GNA – Three students of Alpha Beta Education Centre in Accra have emerged world champions in the 2024/2025 Pearson Edexcel Global Achievement Awards.
The students, Hillary Nhyiraba Ansuaa Oppong, Kekeli Yao Dove-Ayekple, and Sheraz Rakiswende Yougbare, recorded the highest global marks in Primary Mathematics in the June Pearson Edexcel examinations, a distinction earned by only top performers worldwide.
They beat more than 2,100 candidates from 85 countries to top their categories.
Their achievements were recognised at the Pearson Outstanding Learner Awards ceremony held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
Mr Benjamin Peprah-Boakye Dankwa, Principal of Alpha Beta Education Centre, said the accomplishment placed the school among a select group globally to produce multiple international toppers in the same subject and exam series.
“This is a monumental moment for Alpha Beta and for education in Ghana. Producing three world champions in a single year reflects discipline, preparation and the nurturing environment our school provides,” he said.
The recognition, Mr Dankwa said, reinforced Ghana’s growing visibility in international academic excellence and demonstrated what students could achieve with the right support, mentorship and encouragement.
The feat strengthened the school’s reputation for academic and holistic excellence, he noted, adding that Alpha Beta Christian College was earlier this year named Best A-Level School in Ghana for the sixth time by the British Council.
He lauded the mathematics faculty for its dedication and critical role in the success.
Mr Sammie Adjepong Jr, Business Director of the school, said the global honour affirmed the school’s commitment to high academic standards and the development of confident problem-solvers and future leaders.
“We celebrate our exceptional students, their parents, and the dedicated teachers who guided them,” he added.
